Aaron H. Gould was born in Nova Scotia and lived in Boston before settling in Detroit in 1915. Gould had a prolific career, designing municipal and commercial buildings across the nation. In 1921, his firm, Aaron H. Gould & Son, completed the home at 1405 Balmoral Drive for Alexander Sydney Ramage. This is the only house known to be designed by Gould in Detroit. He was chief architect for Wayne County for five years and died in 1930.
Interestingly to note, Gould’s home in Massachusetts was also a Dutch Colonial Revival style home.
