Children’s Harvest Fest

Children, grandchildren and friends of the Palmer Woods community couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to hold our first annual Harvest Fest! On Saturday, October 25, 2014 kids and adults of all ages enjoyed the sun-shine and snacks, as well as watching the youngsters jumping in the bounce house castle (perfect for the princesses that attended).  The parade (or should I say walk around the block) provided additional time to get to know the kids of the community, admire their colorful and varied costumes,  and give the youngest ones a chance to rest their eyes. The warm generosity of the community was evidenced by the large amount of donations received!  There are too many donors to list in this article, but you know who you are and, on be-half of the kids that attended, a HUGE THANK YOU to one and all!  Additional heartfelt appreciation goes out to the members of the Children’s Committee and the additional volunteers who turned out not only to set up the canopy and tables, but to organize, fill and distribute the treat bags as well. We’re fortunate to live in such a wonderful community – Palmer Woods is truly the perfect place to raise a family!

We called this event the “First Annual Harvest Fest” because the intent is to do this again next year.  Whether you have suggestions for how it can be improved, want to assist in the planning, or would like to join the Children’s Committee to continue organizing additional events/outings for the kids and grandkids in the neighborhood, please reach out to me.
