Overview

We are thrilled to announce the 2025 Home and Garden Tour, to be held on July 26, 2025!

Past year’s tours have been enjoyed by hundreds of guests who make it a tradition to enjoy the historic homes of Palmer Woods. This year, our Tour will feature 10 locations, varying from garden-only experiences, full-home tours, or combinations of home and garden. After the Tour, you have the option to treat yourself to an exclusive Garden Party, including a relaxed gourmet dining experience with chef-prepared seasonal bites, festive beverages—both spirited and non-alcoholic, a curated silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items and experiences, and an elegant ambiance and a chance to unwind with fellow guests

The tours are organized in timed shifts to help prevent crowding and provide a safer and more enjoyable experience. Only a limited amount of tickets will be offered for this event in the interest of keeping our guests safe.

Tour Highlights

This year, our Tour will feature 10 locations, varying from garden-only experiences, full-home tours, or combinations of home + garden. This year’s highlights include:

• A meticulously restored 1925 Tudor Revival that masterfully blends historic grandeur with modern luxury, featuring exquisite original details like revitalized German silver, soaring beamed ceilings, and custom renovations throughout its expansive multi-level layout. Featured recently in Crain’s Detroit Business, this home is truly a show stopper!
• The gardens of the Frank Lloyd Wright Turkel House, a harmonious extension of the home’s iconic modernist design, featuring thoughtfully composed landscapes, native plantings, and serene outdoor spaces that reflect Wright’s vision of organic architecture and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
• The gardens and indoor solarium of a lovingly restored 1921 Dutch Colonial, which offers a lush and elegant retreat, with beautifully manicured landscaping, mature trees, and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces that complement the home’s classic architecture while providing a serene setting for relaxation and entertaining.

The 2025 Garden Party

Cap off your Home and Garden Tour experience with an exclusive Garden Party, open only to guests with Tour + Garden Party tickets. Set in a beautifully curated space, this festive gathering offers a gourmet yet relaxed dining experience, complete with chef-prepared fare and seasonal small bites. Enjoy a selection of refreshing beverages—both spirited and non-alcoholic—as you mingle with fellow guests and explore our curated silent auction, featuring unique items and experiences. With elegant surroundings and thoughtful amenities, the Garden Party is the perfect way to unwind, connect, and celebrate a day well spent.

Additional Information

On the day of the event, motor coaches will transport guests amongst the various homes and the offsite guest parking. Docents will be distributed throughout the homes and gardens to provide historical facts and relevant information. After viewing the ten homes on the main tour, Garden Party guests will complete their evening at the Soirée home, where entertainment, food, and libations await.

• The tours are organized in timed shifts to help prevent crowding and provide a safer and more enjoyable experience.
• The Garden Party is open ONLY to “Tour + Garden Party” ticket holders.
• Entries begin at 10:00am, with the latest entry at 5:30pm.
• We will have door-to-door shuttles to each home from the off-site parking (across 7 Mile from Palmer Woods), where you can securely park your car.
• The number of attendees will be limited, so early ticket purchase is advised.
• Please plan for approximately 2 hours to view all ten homes.

You will receive an email the week prior to the event with updated directions where to park and how to travel to each home. Please note that you may be asked to remove or cover your shoes when you enter each home.

Proceeds from this tour help fund a variety of neighborhood beautification and community initiatives. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds is donated to local charities and foundations. Recipients of past contributions include Friends of Palmer Park, Motor City STEAM, Alternatives for Girls, COTS Detroit, Greening of Detroit, Mariner’s Inn, and the Michigan Humane Society.
